IHS’ provision of basic WASH NFIs distributed in Debark included household water treatment chemicals, body and laundry soaps, jerry cans, buckets, basins, sanitary pads, under wears, solar torches etc. A total of 120 people received access to basic sanitation facilities in January 2022.
This intervention was realized through the renovation of existing latrines and newly constructed latrines in multiple regions. In host communities, IHS primarily supported social mobilization in collaboration with RHBs, whereas in IDP settlements new latrine construction was accomplished in partnership with NGOs and private contractors. IHS provided technical and financial support for the delivery of risk communication messages to over 20,000 people.
