IDPs in Dabat and Debark were reached with basic hygiene messages through public awareness campaigns using health extension workers, community volunteers and through communication (BCC) materials with a focus on COVID-19 and cholera infection prevention and control (IPC).
The WASH program supported more than 2500 children by providing access to safe and appropriate WASH facilities and hygiene services along with learning facilities and safe spaces. It also provided support for girls and women so that they have access to menstrual hygiene management services and ensured the implementation of safe and accessible channels to report sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA) through aid workers. In relation to this, 202 women, girls and boys were able to have access to GBV risk mitigation, prevention, or response interventions.
