The Southern Nations, Nationalities, and Peoples’ Region (SNNPR) is home to various ethnic groups, each with distinct needs. IHS has identified and responded to these needs through targeted projects. In the realm of WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene), IHS has implemented water point construction, emergency latrine construction, and sanitation and hygiene promotion activities. Additionally, livelihood-focused initiatives, such as vocational skills training and linkage with microfinance institutions, aim to uplift communities in SNNPR by providing sustainable economic opportunities.

In SNNPR, IHS is committed to community-based approaches that empower local residents to actively participate in decision-making processes. Through the establishment of community structures and awareness programs, IHS is fostering a sense of ownership and promoting sustainable development practices that resonate with the unique cultural fabric of the Southern Nations, Nationalities, and Peoples’ Region.
